Newgrounds is being more assertive now. If you read their last post they have always sat on the sidelines since content users would post here and leave link after link to youtube, this redirected traffic away from Newgrounds. Newgrounds is still viable since they want to show that not only they can compete but also keep there traffic here on this site. I'm sure as the days go by the more popular videos will be converted just like yours because they are tired of people using Newgrounds as a spring board for youtube or other sites. Also if Newgrounds can still grab more traffic they can go back to doing more awesome stuff!

Yeah, I read that post. I suspected this might have been the case and I am fully in support of that. I am so indebted to Newgrounds for fostering my love of animating, they deserve to be THE place for online animation.

Works well for me and anyone who goes on Newgrounds from mobile devices -- unless you have Flash, you can't otherwise see it -- and if the upload is in video format, it makes things a whole lot easier. : )

Yeah, I know. I used to be a huge supporter of flash for everything, but have since realized it makes no sense. I'm just glad Newgrounds is making the transition successfullyl.

When I prep Throwback Thursday I come across movies like this that were made before we had video support, where we ended up with a low quality (compression and dimensions wise) video inside an swf... In these cases I try to find a raw video version and replace the swf!

Got it. Thanks for going to the trouble.!

Are we going to see conversion mods like we had icon mods?

morcov - possibly! We're trying to tackle a lot of the classics each week as we do Throwback Thursday but eventually we should probably go nuts on everything.

Posted again because I realized I forgot how to use our own feed reply system. :P
