Oscar Nominations for Best Animated Feature Film Revealed

Oscar Nominations for Best Animated Feature Film

This year's competition is going to be F*cking intense. It says alot when a movie as great as THE LEGO MOVIE doesn't even get a nom. A lot of people might cry foul on that, but judging by what I've seen from Song of the Sea, and the Tale of Princess Kaguya, I would be careful rushing to that judgment.

Anyway, here they are.

The mind-blowingly artistic and narratively deep Ghibli film from Isao Takahata ("Grave of the Fireflies")

The Tale of Princess Kaguya

Next we will probably go down as the masterwork of director Tom Moore ("The Secret of Kells")

The Song of the Sea

Different, exciting movies! That's what I love about animation. Well, let's round it off with the latest from the best stop-motion studio this side of Aardman..... Laika ("Coraline", "ParaNorman")

The Boxtrolls

Next, we have Disney taking a big, fat, ol' page out of Pixar's book with

Big Hero 6

And last, but certainly not least, we have the drop-dead gorgeous sequel to How to Train Your Dragon. This is actually the only film on the list I have seen and it was fantastic.

How to Train Your Dragon

So there you have it.
